“Our emotions need to be as educated as our intellect. It is important to know how to feel, how to respond, and how to let life in so that it can touch you.” (Jim Rohn)

We are pleased to let our students, families and colleagues know that we have recently received the ‘Excellence in Assessment’ award from the Chartered Institute of Educational Assessors (CIEA).

A ‘chartered institute’ is an organisation recognised as being the experts in their line of work. There are chartered institutes for engineering, science, finance and so on. For the Pendlebury Centre, it recognises the way in which we are able to understand each young person’s emotional and social needs – and then plan for their further development.

Whilst we recognise academic progress is very important for future life chances, we also aim to ensure our students move on from us as more rounded, more resilient young people. This award – which required an inspection from the CIEA – goes some way to highlighting we are doing a good job in this area!
